July 2024 Update:

Upcoming Events
Adventures of an Italian Food Lover

Book Signing & Dinner for Author Faith Willinger
July 25th, Palace Kitchen

Any book with the words "adventure" and "food" in the title has got to be good!  That's just what we thought when we first picked up the new book by Faith Willinger, Adventures of an Italian Food Lover, and we've barely put it down since.  A compilation of village recipes, this book is an authentic look at how Italians eat today.  So please join us in welcoming Faith to Seattle at these two, tasty events!

Book Signing & Reception
Palace Kitchen
4:30-5:30pm

The Book Signing & Reception is $10 per guest and includes delicious bites from her book, a cool glass of Italian Panna water and a glass of wine for good measure. Books will be available for purchase and Faith will be there to sign!

Cookbook Dinner
Palace Kitchen
5:30pm

A mouth-watering menu created from Faith's new book will be available throughout the evening at Palace Kitchen.  Dinner is $50 per guest and includes three courses, along with a copy of Faith's book to take home for each couple or party of 2.  Reservations available for parties of 2 to 6 starting at 5:30pm.

Tom's Letter
Tom's Letter

Summer is here and I'm all about making Zucchini Cakes (for recipe click here) because we're now getting bushels of those green beauties from our new farm in Prosser.  Give them a try and don't skimp on the full-fat Greek yogurt...it's worth it.

Summer also means we are in full swing here at Tom Douglas Restaurants! We just finished cooking up a storm at our first annual Culinary Summer Camp.  Our restaurants are busier than ever, taking advantage of all the fresh summer produce picked from local farms and prepared in our kitchens each week.  The Bite of Seattle is mere hours away, where Dahlia Lounge, Palace Kitchen and Lola will be serving up tasty treats in The Alley (a great spot to feed your appetite while also supporting Food Lifeline, the largest non-profit food distribution organization in Washington dedicated to hunger relief.)   And how proud we are to be at The Bite with our "newbie" Serious Pie!   For those of you still hungry, our wood fired ovens will be serving up smoky, blistered crust pizza all weekend long.  For more details about The Bite and where to find us, click here.

But why stop there!  We're keeping the summer momentum going, by hosting two very special chef and author events that are right around the corner.  See below for all the details and we look forward to seeing you.

Cheers ~ Tom Douglas

Recipes and Tips
Lola's Zucchini Cakes with Tzatziki

Serves 6 to 8

As the weather heats up and the summer squash crop comes rolling in, you can never have too many zucchini recipes on hand to use up the abundance!  Here's a recipe that Lola chef Brock Johnson cooked for our Summer Campers during his Modern Turkish demo.  Both the Greeks and the Turks like to turn zucchini into savory little pan fried cakes or fritters served with a creamy yogurt sauce.  This makes a delightful mezze or a light vegetarian supper.
