I’m hoping to see many of you at our joints for New Year's Eve. We even have a party at the Palace Ballroom anchored by the Portage Bay Big Band and a five course food and wine extravaganza. Click here for more info, or purchase your tickets now.

Most all of us, I would think, remember our favorite date restaurants. Two joints in our Pike Place Market neighborhood quickly became go-to places for Jackie and I to steal a romantic lunch, or to share a bottle of wine and quiet dinner at a dark corner table. Lunches always ended up at the Pink Door, now celebrating 30 years in business, with steaming bowls of pasta and broccoli soup drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and dusted with grated Parmesan. Hot soup and a hot gal….ooh la la!

Dinners were right up on 1st ave. at the sophisticated, stylish and delicious Labuznik. We tended to eat in the café section...
