Hello Friends!
We admit to being swept up in all the juicing and smoothie excitement. Each of our joints has the task to create a deliciously compelling non-alcoholic drink to refresh those who aren’t quite feeling up to having that boozy cocktail or glass of wine!
Fresh black grapes and currants are crushed and mixed with vanilla for the grape soda at Serious Pie. Lola is making a ginger syrup mixed with mint and lemon for a delicious spritzer. Dahlia has a strawberry shrub that makes your tongue dance! This week we will be making a tasty syrup out of the beautiful fresh Washington cherries that are so abundant this year. Expect to see the syrup in thirst-quenching spritzers in the coming months.
SO WHAT ARE YOU CONCOCTING?
Do you have a favorite summertime non-alcoholic drink that’s your go-to? Strut your recipe at an open house invitational at our new cooking school, The Hot Stove Society. This is a call for entries to the first ever “We drink other stuff besides alcohol competition”.

If you’re interested in entering, send your recipe to office@tomdouglas.com and we will pick our top 10 favorites. Competitors will bring their non-alcoholic drinks and recipes to the brand new Hot Stove Society for Tom and his partner Eric Tanaka to review at a big fun tasting on August 21st, from 5:30-7pm.
Never heard of the Hot Stove Society? It’s our brand new cooking school at the Hotel Ändra downtown! We just launched our website, so take a virtual stroll through and check out our class schedule which is up for July and August. You might find a class that tickles your fancy!
Cheers!
